  Ray Antrobus  
   

Raymond Antrobus, was born in 1986 to an English mother and Jamaican father in East London, he has been performing poetry since December 2007. In 2009 Raymond quit his career as a Person Trainer to embark in a career as a writer, photographer and spoken word artist.

He won the Farrago International Slam in October 2008 and was runner up of the London Farrago Slam the same year. He has performed at festivals such as ‘The Secret Garden Party’, ‘Latitude Festival’ and ‘Vibe Festival’ in Birmingham. As well as festivals Raymond has performed his poems across seas in Berlin and Venice. He is also one half of Dub Step and poetry duo‘Speed Camera Shy’.
Raymond is a member of poetry collective ‘PiP’(Poem In-between People) and helps organize and promote their high profile music and
poetry events called ‘Poe Jazzi’.

Raymond’s performance and writing styles have various emotional qualities, tones and rhythms. People have described his stage, delivery and presence as ‘sensitively aggressive’ and ‘fiery water’. His writing is often perceived to be provocative, delicate and thoughtful.

Raymond is a consistent performer on London’s spoken word and young writers circuit and he aims to be one of the best.
