In Sept 07, Poetry and Performance Poetry, started in Petersfield with a poetry eve organised to help put a local bistro on the map. It was so successful, Peter Dew, landlord of 'The Square Brewery' offered use of a room above the pub for the group. Since then, Write Angle has progressed beyond all expectation. Brian Harris, Village Music Shop joined in to provide audio eqpt, song/guitar and Jezz, added even more musical talent.

No longer just poetry, WA includes belly dancing, comedy, song, monologue, dualogue, short story,  kid's nights – and appearing monthly - Professional Performers, reknowned throughout the UK -  including AF Harrold, Speech Painter, Peter Dixon, Liz Bentley, Stella Mandella, Audi Maserati, John Hegley, Hannah Tristram, Rachel Pantechnicon, Johnny Jet, Johnny Fluffypunk, Shawn Kelly, Phil Jeays, Gareth Toms and lots more! And, it has begun performing at other venues and inviting them to Petersfield.

Although professional performers are booked through August '09, the basic premise is still to provide a platform, mic and audience to everyone. WA want to encourage new and experimental work, and bring forth new talent. And it's happening! People who've never written, are putting pen to paper. Those who never stood up before a crowd, are now doing it and feeling good about themselves.

After only 8 months, Write Angle received an award in the 'Life in Petersfield Business and Community Awards'ceremony in the Entertainment/Arts category.

Its website, www.petersfieldwriteangle.co.uk will be in constant update of Write Angle news, as well as local venues/artists/events.

Write Angle meets the 3rd Tuesday of Each Month at The Square Brewery, Market Square, Petersfield, starting at 7.30 onward. Entry fee is £3.

'Not only does Mike Knee, Write Angle's March 2009 Guest, perform country song/guitar but he's also won an award for 'changing the way we look at moving pictures'. Congrats, Mike!'

Emma Red will have her first acting role in the part in of Agnes in a play called 'Abandonment' by Kate Atkinson performed by Funtington Players near Chichester. from Monday 24 November - Saturday 29 November. Contact Funtington Players for further info
