Performance Poetry eve, 3rd Tuesday of Every Month, starting at 7.30pm
Want to know what's going on? Be sure to check our Events page!
We are pleased to present the only Open Mic 'Original' Poetry Evenings in Petersfield, Hants.
Sponsored by The Petersfield Writer's Workshop, and with very special thanks to Peter Dew, Manager and owner of The Square Brewery, who has kindly consented to let us use the room upstairs, with its high ceilings, wooden floors, fire place, bright light and good ambience - in his wonderful pub, for these events. Many thanks also to Brian Harris, of the Village Music Shop in the Folly's Market, for lending us the mic and all equipment, bringing it over and setting it up for us - as well as lending us a reading stand! And to Jezz, who provides his equipment and many talents.
Entrance fee is £3 which will go for costs, visiting poets and other events.
Here's your chance to read your work aloud, or perform it. Leave the isolation of the garret and come share with us. We'll provide you the time, the place and the audience. If you've never written a poem before, you might just find coming to a few sessions, will get you going!
Poems can be funny, clever, silly, witty, crazy, mad, entertaining, thought provoking, whatever (as long as they don't offend with gratuitous obscenities and extreme politics etc).
On the other hand, if you just want to come and listen, please do.
We had our 'premier' evening at Djangos, and read to a full house. Not only was there enormous enthusiasm but we were encouraged to continue doing this on a regular basis. Hence, the new 'Write-Angle' Poetry Performance group.
