Singer, dancer and musician, Hannah has been touring with world-music choirs Village Harmony and Northern Harmony since she was 10, in England, USA, Caucasus Georgia, Africa, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy and Austria.
She works professionally as an accordionist, flautist, singer and performance poet (gets a kick out of playing harp, guitar, recorder, percussion, baroque flute, double bass, 'pots n pans' and most anything she can get her hands on). Her passions include contact improvisation, belly dance, Chantraine, morris dance, authentic movement, circle dance, Alexander technique, yoga, contemporary dance, various healing arts, and traditional dances from around the world.
Hannah Rose Tristram has been singing, song-collecting and performing around the world from the age of ten, with world music choirs Village Harmony and Northern Harmony. She trained in Actor Musicianship at Rose Bruford College, and has participated in a wide range of amateur and professional theatre productions, both as performer and as Musical Director.
Since training with Frankie Armstrong in April 2008, she has enjoyed working closely alongside her, at vocal events across Wales, France, London and Sussex. Regular groups she has led in song include:- The Breath of Life Singers in West Sussex, andWorld Music Chorus, Free Your Voice, Vocal Workshop and The Wilful Choir in London. She runs vocal workshops wherever opportunity arises, with previous work including Unicorn Natural Voice Camp, I Am Joy Arts Festival, various primary and secondary schools, Jellyroll Saturday School, Kingston Adult Education, Chichester Festival Youth Theatre and Royal Brompton Hospital's 'Singing For Breathing' project.
Hannah is a multi-instrumentalist, working and playing as an accordionist, flautist, singer and poet. Hannah also has musical skills with harp, guitar, recorder, percussion, music theory and composition.
Hannah is currently undertaking a degree in Music and Dance at Kingston University. Dance and movement are an important part of Hannah's approach to voice work. She has a wide range of movement experience, in genres including belly dance, circle dance, flamenco, morris, bharatanatyam, ballet, international folk dance, african dance, choreography, improvisation, contact improvisation, wushu, capoeira, yoga, urban, contemporary, salsa, tango, Alexander technique, Chantraine, Authentic Movement, physical theatre and various healing arts.
Hannah has a foundation and deepening training in Non Violent Communication (also known as Compassionate Communication) – which gives tools that encourage empathy, connection and harmony. Hannah enjoys present-moment living, and believes that dancing/moving and singing/sounding are human rights and joys.
